Floral Waters
Floral waters are a wonderful addition to your skin care routine. They lock in moisture, tone, and refresh the skin. A hydrosol (floral water), is the aromatic water that remains after an essential oil is distilled via steam distillation. Hydrosols are gentle and generally safe for children. They may be sensitizing for some individuals. Be sure to keep hydrosols out of eyes and nose. Store in the refrigerator to prolong shelf life.
Rose; Rose floral water is luxurious and aromatic. Long a symbol of love, nobility, and sacrality, rose is a fragrance that uplifts and relaxes. It is a great skin support, and can be used as a facial toner, on inflamed skin, or be added to lotions and baths.
Lavender; Lavender floral water is calm in a bottle. This relaxing scent has a great many uses - spray in the room as an air freshener, spritz on laundry as you iron, or mist on a pillow to help you relieve stress before bedtime. It's also a wonderful hydrosol for skin and hair, and can be used in a hair rinse or bubbly bath.
Chamomile; Chamomile floral water is very gentle for the skin and senses. It is used as a toner and astringent - even on sensitive skin. Calming the skin and mind, it can also be used in a lotion, to set makeup, or add soothing scents to the bath. Chamomile is even gentle enough for baby booties - just fully air dry before diapering.
Eucalyptus; Eucalyptus floral water is a cooling and refreshing hydrosol. It has an energizing scent that is amazing for open breathing and uplifting. You can use it to make a chest compress, diffuser blend, or as a revitalizing room spray.
Sandalwood; Sandalwood floral water is a calming and grounding aroma that supports healthy skin. Providing a lovely earthy aroma, it's great for a subtle body mist, room spray, or skin & hair hydrator.
Lemongrass; Lemongrass floral water is an revitalizing, stimulating, and refreshing aroma. Like other floral waters it has super skin and hair supporting properties. It's sunshiny scent is great for a facial steam, hair mist, or an extra energizing boost in a clay mask.
Peppermint; Peppermint floral water is both cooling and invigorating, and feels fabulous on a sunburn or a bug bite. Spray a little on your neck after working out to feel a cooldown, or when studying for a mental recharge. It can also be used as a body mist for a refreshing smell that keeps pesky bugs away, or as a foot spray for a pick-me-up.
