For the Monarchs
Monarch butterflies are at risk of becoming endangered. Due to land development, natural habitat is being consumed at an alarming pace - a loss of 2.2 million acres per year. The overuse of pesticides is also turning diverse areas that support monarchs, pollinators, and other wildlife into landscapes that support few species. “This trend will surely continue...unless we step up and do something about it.” -Monarch Watch
We want to raise awareness of these issues and encourage habitat restoration for all pollinators, including monarchs. This soap bag includes a packet of milkweed seeds, the primary food of monarch caterpillars. The best time to plant is after a hard frost - or you can wait until spring. Please grow some milkweed in your yards and surrounding areas to support our monarch friends.
Thank you for helping to save our endangered butterflies... ...one milkweed at a time.
